 Wow, this is great news for us and travelers to China whom want to see more of the real China verses the tourist sites. We have been waiting for a long time and read that this new non-stop was coming and it will start in July 2015 with China Eastern Airlines. We are excited because it takes about 6-8 hours off the total travel time to get to our place in Lishui, Jiangsu, Nanjing China. The Nanjing Airport is a great modern smaller airport but which is expanding fast. My in-laws village will be taken over to accommodate this expansion. From the Nanjing Airport to our apartment in Lisui is about a 20 minute ride. If you plan on going to Nanjing which is most of the travelers then it would take between 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. The airline flying is China Eastern Airline which we have flown before and is an excellent airline. Also, like I have explained in the past it is a great way to start your trip to China by traveling in a Chinese Airline. The cultural differences will start right away but it is fun and part of the experience.
Nanjing is my favorite city because it is a major city and you know you’re in China but like it would be in Shanghai (nostalgia) before Shanghai exploded to one of the top tier cities in the world. The city has all the modern conveniences hotels, restaurants, tourist sites, and Nanjing Massacre Museum which is a must see in Nanjing. This is a great way to start your experience in China and let the jet lag where off without the craziness of Shanghai and Beijing. Nanjing is a good 2 day visit to the most popular sites with great restaurants at affordable rates. Nanjing is a major automotive hub as well with many foreign travelers in and around the city of Nanjing. Customs are a breeze in Nanjing in the smaller airport and your luggage will be waiting for you because they are quick. We need to start planning our next trip to China! Travel Safe and Smart

 The attached link is another great article on pickpockets and it is not going away for travelers but changing. What I mean about changing is that we carry less cash but we rely so much on credit cards and smart phones. Our electronic information can be stolen with radio frequency (RF) and the best way to protect you is with a money belt and or simply added aluminum foil to protect your credit cards and smart phones. Recently one of my customers loved my innovative money belt that they could fit their smart phone which was a smart idea. My money belt has RFID protection. Many credit cards now have the RF chip in them and I recently received new credit cards and they have the RFID chip without requesting the chip.
Pickpockets are the number one crime against travelers. We think it will not happen to us but it is easier to get pickpocket now because everyone is always looking at their phone and are total distracted which is the method used by pickpockets, distraction!
