About Us
Our Mission
We want to give travelers an insight into China through our personal experiences and passion for China. We hope through our insight this information will provide a better travel experience in China. What inspired us to create this website was that most blogs and guide books fall short covering the cultural differences as a Travel Tip. When we read negative experiences (majority of experiences are positive) they seem to all have a common theme of not knowing what to expect and trying to compare to our own lifestyles. We want to explain the cultural differences and what to expect and what not to expect. We should appreciate the experience rather than comparing to our western lifestyle. If that’s the case why travel, sit on the sofa order some Orange Chicken and watch the travel channel!
My Experience
It all started in May 2004 when I was flown to Macau for business with visits to Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Suzhou. My flight through Cathy Pacific was the most enjoyable experience and when I landed I was met with the upmost hospitality. From the taxi porter directing me to the correct taxi which were three, 1 for mainland China, 1 for Hong Kong, and 1 for Macau ferry. The hotel clerk made special arrangements for me to check in early. The host who treated me with great respect and made sure I was comfortable. This was my second time traveling internationally (Canada does not count for Americans) and very inexperience with different cultures. These first impressions made an impact on me and made my travel experience one to remember.
About Us
I have been to China 19 times and counting since 2004 with over 400 days in China. I met my wife in China and we go back once or twice each year. My wife has an apartment in China which we stay at during our visits if not traveling around China. We had a traditional Chinese wedding in China and a long immigration process. I have been to China 3 times for Chinese New Year which is an experience in itself. We have visited 8 major cities in China. We visit Chinese tourist sites, villages, factories, normal daily life which will provide a different point of view of China to you.
We have developed travel accessories to make traveling easier based upon our travel experiences.
We hope you enjoy!
