My life changed forever after my first international flight back in 2003 to Moscow, Russia. I got hooked on international travel with the amazing people, places, culture, food, drinks, smells, and sites around the world. After my first trip which was exciting and exhilarating I could not wait to get back on my next trip which turned out to be China were I met my wife and we just celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary. I am amazed that I can travel on an airplane and be in China door to door in 24 hours of travel time and the plane that started mass commercial travel is the Boeing 707 which the link below describes how this airplane changed the way we fly.
It may sound crazy but one of my favorite moments is the exhaust smell from the airplane because it usually means I am flying to China and or brings back great memory of my travels to China. It gets me starting to plan my next trip to China. Recently at a factory I experienced the same exhaust smell and I related it to an airplane exhaust and it brought a smile. After I get the last exhaust smell the next smell is the morning or late night dew/humidity smell of landing in China which is usually early in the morning or late in the evening. It is crazy how we relate smells to places and how it affects our senses.
To some people they do not like the long travel time to places halfway around the world but I enjoy it as a major moment during my trip. Just think about it, in 24 hours you can be halfway around the world experiencing a different culture. In our busy lives that is a very short time.
As always thanks for reading my China travel tips, blog, and purchasing my travel accessories including my very popular money belt.
