We officially started packing today for our trip to China next month. Also there is an attached link that questions travelers for their top 10 essential items. The highest responses were Passport, money, and or visa. I totally agree if you have your passport and or visa if required for that country and money then you are all set. You can purchase all the other items if they are forgotten, lost or stolen. That’s why it is critical to protect these items and use a money belt to protect these critical items.
We started to pack for our China trip and this is one of my favorite parts of the planning process. We packed 1 piece of luggage which is our gifts for my in-laws. The gifts are mostly clothes and personal grooming products. The small piece of luggage fit perfectly all the items and I use the rolling of clothes technique which I think works the best. This is great because when we meet my in-laws in Beijing for a 4 day holiday because they can carry their suitcase to bring back to Nanjing on the bullet train. They are returning to Nanjing on a bullet train because the domestic flights do not allow Zippo lighters brand new without any fuel in them. My wife promised Zippo lighters to her cousins as gifts on our next trip to China which means we are obligated to bring these gifts and it has caused many travel arrangements to make this happen. Hopefully her cousins will be grateful.
The best essential was in my opinion the “Openness” comment and it is so true to have an open mind while traveling to different cultures. This is a great part about traveling is experiencing different cultures, food, people, and a different view of the world. Travel Smart and Travel Safe
