I hate when I read that the French are rude or not nice to tourist. This is totally false with our firsthand experience in France last year. We were treated great and many Parisians went out of their way to help us. Our very first experience after exiting the Metro and viewing the street map to determine which way to head to our hotel a Parisian saw we looked a very confused and he offered to help us, wow what a great first experience. The waiters and waitresses at the cafes were patient with us and assisted with our needs and our lack of French. We never felt anyone was rude to us and all the vendors at the local shops were helpful. We had great service at a local restaurant with the owner knowing a little English and it was the best meal of the trip. As long as you are respectful and do not act like you are privilege you will be treated great in France. Are you treated the same if you travel to New York City, LA, Las Vegas, down South, Northwest, New England, and Mid-west I do not think so. In all of my travels I have learned that the world is a great place to visit and most people are kind, friendly, helpful and willing to share with you.
