This is another follow up article with Chinese as the top spenders when they travel.  http://www.bbc.com/travel/blog/20130507-the-us-gears-up-for-an-explosion-of-chinese-tourism.  This story covers what US based business are doing to cater to Chinese tourist.  The first is Chinese breakfast in hotels and the second is hiring people who can speak mandarin Chinese.  In China the Chinese hotels cater to the locals and the locals want a free breakfast when they stay at hotels.  This is one of our travel tips when you travel to China and we recommend you to stay at a Chinese brand hotel rather than a westerner brand hotel.  Most westerner brand hotels have breakfast options but they charge for it but if you stay at a Chinese brand hotel in most cases (not all) breakfast will be included in the price.  If you want Chinese tourist to stay at your hotel in the US it would be a great idea to include breakfasts.  If you learn a little mandarin Chinese then companies may hire you because they want to cater to the Chinese tourist when shopping.  We know this first hand in Vegas there are many company aggressively seeking new hires who speaks mandarin Chinese.  My wife had several interviews at high end shops and during the interview they handed her a stack of applications to hand out to her friends who speak Chinese.  I was surprise and thought it was funny when she went to her interview and I saw non-Chinese employees speaking hello in Chinese to Chinese tourist.  I was surprised and amazed how they are teaching them to speak mandarin Chinese to get sales.  But it is all about catering to target market and the tourist who buys the most.
